Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm Location: SA United Church Netball Association Inc (Goodwood Rd, Adelaide SA 5000) Sports currently offered are: soccer and netball. |
What Makes The Walking Sports Program Unique?
While there are numerous sporting clubs and sport competitions across metropolitan Adelaide, these opportunities are based on standard rules, i.e. sports clubs and competitions are mainly focused on younger people or those who are physically capable of participating in sport competitions.
Currently there are no low impact sport opportunities for older people in Adelaide. Walking sports is gaining recognition in the UK as well as some opportunities beginning to become available in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.
A key aspect of walking sports is that it is ideal for people who are less physically active as the activities are less strenuous and more socially inclusive. Another aspect of walking sports in that no prior experience or training in a sport is required prior to participating.
