Job Vacancy - Supporting Success Project Officer

SportsUnited is seeking to employ a part-time (15hr/wk) Project Officer for the 'Supporting Success' program. The ‘Supporting Success’ program aims to enhance the wellbeing, life and movement skills of young people with an intellectual and/or physical disability. The program provides sport for children and adolescents who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or a physical disability. 

The Project Officer (Supporting Success Program) will be responsible for:
  • Developing and managing the delivery of Supporting Success sites and locations, including:
    • Identifying and establishing new locations/sites,
    • Assisting with the training and management of volunteers,
    • Assisting with the development of session information & materials,
    • Development of weekly session plans,
    • Identifying any equipment for purchasing,
    • Provide Media/Marketing Manager with information as required.

Key Selection Criteria:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the delivery of community focused activities,
  • Understanding of the needs of children and adolescents with intellectual and physical disabilities and the benefits of using sport as a community development tool,
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional partnerships to enhance opportunities and resources,
  • Demonstrated ability to identify volunteers, new sites and locations for Supporting Success,
  • Experience in developing and managing group activities and events,
  • Written and computer literacy skills with the ability to prepare high quality digital materials (such as newsletters, flyers),
  • Research skills to identify necessary activities and/or equipment,
  • Organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage competing demands and work as part of a team,
  • Knowledge of local sport and community sector providers.
