Sporting Memories Australia - Another 'Home Run' week

This week the Sporting Memories Australia team were spread across the north and south of Adelaide.

On Thursday afternoon the Gawler group got together again out at the Gawler Civic Centre to chat about sport. This week members shared a range of sporting stories from their past, from watching soccer in the UK to playing in local football finals.

On Friday morning we hosted our first guest speaker session for the year at the City of Unley Breakfast Buddies with US Major League Baseball player and Olympian Shayne Bennett.

Shayne recalled stories from his time not only as a baseball player in the US as well as representing Australia but also his early years playing Australian Rules Football for North Adelaide in the SANFL.

It was also wonderful to see Sporting Memories Australia Ambassador Daryl Harper in the audience. We even found out Shayne and Daryl knew each other in the early days of their careers!
